House Of The Rising Sun - Animals

The Animals'ın 1964 tarihli parçası. Parça New Orleans'daki bir genelev hakkında, ki bu genelev ismini sahibesi Madame Marianne LeSoleil Levant'dan almaktadır ki bu fransızca da "doğan güneş"{rising sun} demektir. Melodisi geleneksel İngiliz baladlarına dayanmakla birlikte aslında Afrika-Amerika folk şarkısı kökenlidir. 1920lerde Texas Alexander tarafından kaydedilmiştir ve bundan sonra pek çok kişi tarafından da seslendirilmiştir. {Leadbelly, Woody Guthrie, Josh White ve Nina Simeone gibi} Nitekim duyulan ilk yorumu The Animals yapmıştır {yani işi paraya döküp albüme alan }
Şarkının yerel hikayesindeki karakter bir hayatkadını olmakla birlikte The animals bunu bir kumarbaz olarak değiştirmiştir.
