| Alain Delone, Fransa'nın Oscar'ı olarak bilinen Cesar Award kazanmış Fransız sinema oyuncusu.
8 Kasım 1935'te Sceaux, Fransa'da dünyaya geldi. Sinema oyunculuğu kariyerinde çok hızlı bir şekilde yükselmeye başlayan Delon, henüz 23 yaşındayken Fransa'nın efsane aktörleri Gerard Philipe ve Jean Marais ile ve Amerikalı aktör James Dean ile kıyaslanmaya başladı. Delon, kariyeri boyunca Luchino Visconti, Jean-Luc Godard, Jean-Pierre Melville, Michelangelo Antonioni ve Louis Malle gibi önemli yönetmenlerle çalıştı. 1999 yılında İsviçre vatandaşı oldu.
Paris'e birkaç kilometre uzaklıktaki Sceaux'ta dünyaya gelen Delon'un çocukluğu burada geçti. Roma Katolik yatılı okuluna gönderildikten sonra, uyumsuz davranışları yüzünden pek çok kez okuldan uzaklaştırıldı. Öğretmenleri, dine olan yatkınlığı sebebiyle onu rahiplik okuluna gitmeye ikna etmeye çalıştılarsa da, bu konuda başarılı olamadılar. 14 yaşına geldiğinde okulu bırakan Delon, üvey babasının sahibi olduğu kasapta çalışmaya başladı. Üç yıl sonra orduya kaydoldu ve 1953 yılında savaşa gönderildi. Askerlik yaptığı 5 yılın 11 ayını disiplinsiz davranışları yüzünden askeri hapisanede geçirdi. Askerlikten atıldıktan sonra parasız bir şekilde Paris'e dönen Delon geçinebilmek için, garsonluk, hamallık ve tezgahtarlık gibi ilerde çalıştı. Bu yıllarda aktris Brigitte Auber ile tanıştı ve birlikte Cannes Film Festivali'ne gittiler. Alain Delon'un aktörlük kariyeri burada başladı.
Cannes'da bulundukları sırada yetenek avcısı David O. Sleznic ile tanışan Delon, uygulanan yetenek sınavında başarılı olarak Sleznick'le sözleşme imzaladı. Daha sonra İngilizce öğrenmek için geri döndüğü Paris'te Fransız yönetmen Yves Allegret tarafından, kariyerine Fransa'da başlaması konusunda ikna edildi. İlk oyunculuk tecrübesini Allegret'in yönettiği "Quand la Femme s'en Mele" ile yaşayan Delon, bu filmin ardından Amerika'da da gösterime giren ve başarı yakalayan film "Faibles Femmes" te yer aldı.
İlk sahne tecrübesini 1961 yılında John Ford'un "Tis Pity She's a Whore" oyunu ile yaşayan Delon, bu oyunun ardından "II Gattopardo", "Un Flic", "Le Cercle Rouge" ve "Le Samourai" oyunlarında da rol aldı.
1973 yılında Fransız pop şarkıcısı Dalida ile, "Paroles, Paroles" şarkısında yaptıkları düet, başta Fransa olmak üzere, dünyanın pek çok yerinde büyük beğeni topladı.
1984 yılına gelindiğinde, bir Bertran Biler filmi olan "Notre Historie" ile, En İyi Erkek Oyuncu dalında Cesar Award kazanan Delon, pek çok filmde yeraldıktan sonra 1997 yılında aktörlüğü bıraktığını açıkladı. Bu açıklamanın ardından da zaman zaman bazı filmlerde yer almaya devam etti.
