En iyi zenci yönetmenlerden olduğu bilinen Spike Lee tarafından 2002 yılında çekilen filmin senaryosu David Benioff'un kitabından gene David Benioff tarafından yazılmış. Başrollerinde Edward Norton , Philip Seymour ,B arry Pepper , Rosario Dawson , Anna Paquin , Brian Cox oynuyor.
Filmin konusu hayatın çetin yollarından geçerken kolay yolu tercih eden ve uyuşturucu satıcılığı yapmayı tercih eden Monty'nin birgün evindeki baskın sonucunda hapishaneye teslim olmadan önceki son 24 saatini anlatıyor. Bu 24 saat içerisinde yaşadıkları , ruh sıkıntıları , şüpheleri , pişmanlıkları ve arkadaşlarının yaşadıkları ana fikir olarak veriliyor.
Edward Norton , American History X'teki kadar başarılı bir perfonmans gösteriyor. Spike Lee ise bence mükemmel bir yönetmenlik başarısı göstermiş. Elbette David Benioff'un senaryoyu mükemmel hazırlaması unutulmamalı. Filmde mükemmel kısımlar var ki özellikle benim aklımda yer eden kısımlar Monty'nin babasının barındayken tuvalette kendi kendine yaptığı konuşma , hapishaneye giderken babasının ona anlattıkları ve en yakın arkadaşı tarafından dövüldüğü sahne göz önüne alınabilir.
